1. Who is responsible for your data
Meet You There is operated by Kirsten Wollan, a sole proprietor based in Norway. For the personal data described in this Policy, Kirsten Wollan acts as the data controller under the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent Norwegian law.
2. What we collect and why
- Account data (email, password hash) — to create and secure your account so we can give you continued access to the tool. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Purchase data (which product you purchased, purchase status) — to unlock paid features for you. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Support messages — when you email us, we keep the message to reply and to improve the Service. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Basic technical data (IP address, device/browser type, log data) — for security, fraud prevention, and to keep the Service running. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
We do not ask you to record specific food, weight, medical history, or other sensitive health information. Your in-app selections (emotions, breathing sessions) are used to deliver the tool in the moment and are not used to build a personal profile of you.
3. Payment data
Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. When you purchase, Paddle collects the information needed to take payment (e.g. name, billing address, card details, tax info) and acts as an independent data controller for that information. We do not see or store your full card details. See Paddle's Privacy Notice.
4. Who we share data with
- Hosting and backend infrastructure providers who store data on our behalf under written data processing terms.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Professional advisers (e.g. legal, accounting) where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions to protect your data.
6. How long we keep data
We keep your account and purchase data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations (typically up to 5 years for purchase records under Norwegian law). Support messages are kept up to 2 years. Logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and then deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to: access your data, have it corrected, have it erased, restrict or object to its processing, withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent), and data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or your local supervisory authority. We aim to respond within one month.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and authenticated access to your data — to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of essential cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in and to remember your in-session preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we'll update this Policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
10. Children
Meet You There is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
